Technical Abstract: The basis of the unit hydrograph methods of Clark, Snyder, and Mockus (Soil Conservation Service) were explored to show their common aspects. Equations for peak discharge and time-to-peak were first developed by routing a triangular time-area-rainfall diagram through a linear reservoir following the Clark approach. This led directly to the Snyder method. The Mockus approach was shown to yield equations for peak discharge and time-to-peak that were quite similar to those of Snyder.
