As these new cultivars are released to growers to use, basic information describing the new cultivars is recorded in this journal. This makes the information available to all scientists and growers worldwide. Also, the information is permanently available in libraries and other places information is stored.

Technical Abstract: List #36 of this register contains information on many cultivars of many horticultural crops. New cultivars of chestnut, filbert, pecan, and walnut are also included. Basic information on each cultivar includes origin and major tree and nut characteristics.
