Interpretive Summary: Salmonella enterica is an important foodborne pathogen that causes gastroenteritis in humans. Eggs and egg products are a potential source of human outbreaks. Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Widemarsh is a rarely reported serovar in human illness, but has been isolated from dried egg white, however, it is not commonly detected in liquid egg product. To collect information on the genome structure of this rare serovar, the genome of Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Widemarsh strain CRJJGF_00058 isolated from eggs in 2008 was sequenced and the 4.73 Mbp draft genome sequence reported. To our knowledge this is the first genome sequence of serovar Lille made publicly available to the scientific community.

Technical Abstract: Here, we report a 4.73 Mbp draft genome sequence of Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Widemarsh strain CRJJGF_00058 isolated from eggs in 2008.
