Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: The complete genome of a virulent Streptococcus agalactiae strain 138P is 1838701 bp in size, containing 1831 genes. The genome has 1593 coding sequences, 152 pseudo genes, 16 rRNAs, 69 tRNAs, and 1 non-coding RNA. The annotation of the genome is added by the NCBI Prokaryotic Genome Annotation Pipeline. The publishing of this genome will allow the identification of virulence factors important for pathogenesis. The availability of this complete genome will also facilitate the discovery of common immunogens to aid the development of novel vaccines.
