Citation: Srinivasan, R., Riley, D., Diffie, S., Sparks, A., Adkins, S.T. 2012. Whitefly population dynamics and evaluation of whitefly-transmitted Tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV)-resistant tomato genotypes as whitefly and TYLCV reservoirs. Journal of Economic Entomology. 105(4):1447-1456.

Interpretive Summary: Tomato yellow leaf curl virus incidence has been steadily increasing in Georgia. Resistant tomato genotypes were shown to serve as virus and whitefly reservoirs.

Technical Abstract: Tomato yellow leaf curl virus resistant tomato cultivars are a major tool for management of this economically important virus. Results presented emphasize that such resistant tomatoes can serve as virus and whitefly reservoirs and potentially influence virus epidemics.
