Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Overview of genetic research on migratory and invasive pests being performed at CMAVE. Emphasis will be on efforts to monitor the movements of fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith)(Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) during its annual migration, model the behavior in order to predict the effect of regional climate change on migration, and mitigate the infestations that have significant economic impact in much of North America. Studies on other invasive pets will also be discussed.
