Interpretive Summary: It is true that historically DDGS has primarily been fed to beef, dairy, swine, and poultry animals. It also appears to be a viable ingredient for aquafeeds. But it should be appropriate as a feed ingredient for other animals as well. To date, however, there have been only a few published studies on the efficacy of feeding DDGS (or other ethanol coproducts) in this regard. These limited reports include sheep and companion animals (but only horses and dogs). So in terms of conclusive feeding recommendations for these types of animals, there are still many unknowns. The objective of this chapter is to discuss feeding DDGS to animals other than livestock and fish.
