Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Raspberry latent virus (RpLV) is a recently characterized virus reported from the Pacific Northwest, including Oregon and Washington in the United States and British Columbia in Canada. The virus appears to spread rapidly in the Fraser River Valley (northwest Washington and southwest British Columbia) with up to 75% field infection one year after planting, with a much lower rate of spread in southern Washington and Oregon. It is not known whether this virus occurs elsewhere in the world. The effect of the virus is most likely due to synergistic reactions when it occurs in mixed infections, since it was symptomless in standard Rubus virus indicators.
