Interpretive Summary: Abbreviations are provided for all currently valid genera (111) and subgenera (137) in family Culicidae of order Diptera. Information on sources of proposed generic and subgeneric abbreviations is also provided.

Technical Abstract: A list of two letter abbreviations for all genera and three letter abbreviations for all subgenera of mosquitoes (family Culicidae, order Diptera) is given. This information on generic-level taxa of mosquitoes is useful in reducing printed space in publications, tables and lists.
