Technical Abstract: Brown stink bug, Euschistus servus (Say) (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae), population was monitored in three one-acre corn fields for four years (2005-2008). The yellow pyramid trap baited with brown stink bug aggregation pheromone was used for the study. Brown stink bug population was affected by weather conditions in Georgia. In the years with normal rainfall, two peaks (one was at either late May or early June, and the other was in August) of stink bug capture were recorded in the corn fields, while only one peak was observed in the years under drought condition. The stink bug capture at the edge versus the middle of the corn fields was also compared. Ramification of basic research in stink bug management will also be discussed.
