Interpretive Summary: This is the first report of Cucurbit leaf crumple virus (CuLCrV) infecting green beans or any other non-cucurbit host in Florida. It suggests that CuLCrV may be more widely distributed than previously reported in Florida and that green beans (and potentially other legumes) may become an important reservoir host of CuLCrV in Florida. This report provides a timely account of CuLCrV infection of green beans to growers, Extension personnel and state and Federal regulatory and research scientists.

Technical Abstract: Cucurbit leaf crumple virus (CuLCrV) was recently reported infecting various cucurbit crops, including squash and watermelon, in Florida. In December 2007, CuLCrV was identified for the first time in green beans in southwest Florida. Although CuLCrV has previously been reported to infect beans in the western United States, to the best of our knowledge this is the first report of CuLCrV infecting green beans in Florida.
