Technical Abstract: The power point presentation summarized a small part of the work done by Robert E. Hungate, one of the greatest microbiologists of the 20th century, related to cellulolytic ruminal microbiology. The American Society of Microbiology (ASM) honored Dr. Hungate with a symposium at the 2006 General Meeting which reviewed his work and his life.
