Interpretive Summary: Little information is available on taxonomic identity and biology of the natural enemies of agricultural pests in Alaska. A cooperative effort between the University of Alaska (UAF) Cooperative Extension Service and the USDA ARS unit in Fairbanks reviewed available literature on beneficial insects and natural enemies of agricultural pests in Alaska. This book contains illustrations, habitats, and other biological data important in the development of integrated pest management programs (IPM). The book summarizes the work conducted by ARS and UAF entomologists.

Technical Abstract: The development of integrated pest management programs is dependent on the availability of biological information on beneficial insects and natural enemies of agricultural pests. This cooperative effort between ARS and UAF represents the first manual on beneficial insects and natural enemies of pests of agricultural importance in Alaska. The information will benefit farmers and IPM practitioners in the state.
