However, due to turf management, the waters conveyed by the drainage network contain potentially high levels of nutrients and pesticides. The objective of this research is to assess the subsurface hydrology and efficiency of different filter materials and in-line filter designs at removing or reducing the levels of pollutants in the discharge waters. To date, we have characterized the subsurface drainage hydrology and identified that ½ inch of water is required to initiate flushing a green.
