Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Podcasts are emerging as a mainstream form of communication to the public. Newspapers and journals now offer podcasts of breaking news and this method offers the producer a variety of options for delivery including both audio and video. Since this medium is digital, additional editing can be done to include interviews, music or other appropriate sights and sounds. The latest cell phones offer MP3 player capacity and the 2007 line of automobiles are equipped to amplify MP3 players. Podcasts can be downloaded from the web and also transmitted wirelessly to mobile phones. To keep in time with this new digital communication medium, a podcast was produced describing the coordinated research, education, and extension project for the application of genomics discoveries to improve rice in the United States.
