Many species are pests of rangeland crops and ornamental plants. Many species are useful as laboratory species to evaluate pesticide efficacy and aspects of behavior that cannot be easily evaluated in smaller organisms. This book review evaluates a field guide of most of the most important and/or most commonly occurring species of grasshoppers, crickets, and katydids of the United States. User groups to benefit from reading this book include researchers on rangeland grasshopper and katydid pest control, scientists in basic biology of insects, and specialists studying these particular groups. |
