This paper is a review of a newly published book on the caterpillars of the eastern United States - a field guide that includes over 700 color photographs of caterpillars in their natural settings. Because many caterpillars have distinct colors and patterns, the guide can function as an essential tool for disseminating knowledge and identification of the early stages of moths and butterflies to a wide range of users from school children to pest management personnel through high quality images of pests and non-pests alike. |
