Six topics were presented in which 1. the development of ICGI was reviewed, 2. the development and operation of the International Triticeae Mapping Initiative was reviewed, 3. the soybean genomic project was reviewed, 4. the role of ICGI international collaborations of ICGI were reviewed, 5. the public-private interactions of ICGI were reviewed, and 6. the future roles of ICGI were proposed.
