Interpretive Summary: Predatory true bugs in the Family Anthocoridae are important sources of biological control in agricultural and forest systems. In recent years, our collecting efforts in the western United States has led to the collection of species not known to occur in the state or, in some cases, not known to occur in the United States. In this paper, we summarize these new records, and include also new state records found by us for species in this Family represented in several entomological museums at universities. Our results thus update considerably for several species the extent of their geographic ranges.

Technical Abstract: We summarize new state and United States records for species of Anthocoridae (Heteroptera: Anthocoridae) that we have collected from the western and north-eastern United States. New U.S. records include Macrotrachelia sp. (apparently M. nigronitens (Stål)), collected in southern California, representing the first record for this genus in the United States, Orius diespeter Herring collected in Washington State, and Anthocoris dimorphicus Anderson & Kelton collected in several northern states. We include also new state records for Anthocoridae noted by us in collections deposited at several university or government museums.
