Interpretive Summary: Information on origin, and key characteristics of new fruit tree rootstocks for use with peach, plum, apricot and almond varieties are provided and, where available, a key reference is cited. This information is useful to breeders, extension personnel, nurserymen and growers.

Technical Abstract: New clonal Prunus hybrid rootstocks offer relief from a variety of edaphic problems including waterlogging, heavy soils, cold, and iron chlorosis. Additionally, they offer varying vigor control compared to standard seedling types and significant improvements in precocity, ease of propagation and reduced suckering.
