Technical Abstract: Information on the North Central Regional Plant Introduction Station's (NCRPIS) collections and activities are presented in poster format. Collection holdings number over 48,000 accessions, and represent over 1300 species include maize, teosinte, sunflower, flax, oilseed Brassica crops, cucumbers, melons, pumpkins, squash, amaranth, quinoa, umbels such as carrots, dill and coriander, grasses, woody and herbaceous ornamentals and plants used for medicinal, nutriceutical and/or industrial purposes such as phytoremediation. Acquisition, regeneration using controlled pollination techniques and insect pollinators, distribution and enhancement activities are summarized. Projects dealing with characterization and evaluation for molecular, agronomic, biochemical and aesthetic traits, and for and biotic and abiotic resistance factors are described.
