Interpretive Summary: ABSTRACT ONLY

Technical Abstract: As part of a Coordinated Research Programme funded by UN/FAO, IAEA, field tests were conducted in 14 countries to test efficacy of traps baited with female-targeted synthetic lures and liquid protein baits. Multilure traps baited with torula yeast/borax solution, NuLure/borax solution, ammonium bicarbonate lures, two component Biolure (ammonium acetate and putrescine) and three component Biolure (ammonium acetate, putrescine and trimethylamine) along with other trap and lure combinations were tested. Among the fruit fly species tested were Ceratitis capitata, Ceratitis rosa, Anastrepha ludens, Anastrepha obliqua, Bactrocera oleae as well as other species in those genera. Comparisons of fruit fly capture among the different lures and among different species will be presented.
