Technical Abstract: Four genes responsible for complete resistance to five races of Pyricularia grisea (organism of rice blast disease) plus six genes conferring partial resistance were identified. Partial resistance is of interest because it often proves to be more durable than complete resistance. Five of the genes we identified are 'new' - not yet utilized in breeding programs. The gene- marker linkages we identified can be used to identify breeding progeny containing desired disease resistance genes.
