Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: As a part of the joint National Cooperative Enhancement Project, we continued to evaluate our enhancement materials for resistance to early blight, Colorado potato beetle in unsprayed plots and for early dying in an infected plot at the UW Agricultural Research Station at Hancock, Wisconsin. These tests augment our routine evaluation for yield, chipping, specific gravity, adaptation, etc. which are done at various stages in the development of our materials. A summary of our field data taken on materials in 1998 at Hancock for resistance to early blight, Colorado potato beetle and early dying is presented. Resistant selections for each were noted. Also included is a summary of our findings on the utilization of wild species for resistance to late blight and Colorado potato beetle.
