Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Molecular mapping analysis identified eight genes that affect milling quality, six of which appear to affect milling through their affect on grain shape. The two genes not associated with grain shape provided an increase in whole milling yield of 4 to 6 percent. Identifying molecular markers associated with milling quality genes will help breeders to improve ethis trait more efficiently in breeding populations.
