Technical Abstract:
Biotechnology includes traditional fermentation, biocatalysis, and gene manipulation. Recent progress in gene manipulation has made many things possible including: improve biocatalysts; alter lipid composition of oil crops; and create new microorganisms, plants, and animals which have better characteristic in producing useful products or more tolerance to harsh environments.
