Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Fantesk**TM is a multipurpose carrying agent. It is a composite, prepared by co-jet cooking oil, water, and starch. This cooking produces a very stable emulsion, a lubricous fluid gel, containing up to 50% oil. It can be drum dried to a film and reduced to a dry, non-oily powder. This powder, which is stable, can be resuspended in water to produce a stable gel, resembling the original gel from the jet-cooker. It can be used in carrying oil and fat to give a satisfying mouth feel at a fraction of the amount of fat used in conventional ways to prepare e.g. sausages, hamburgers, and ice creams. It can be used in transporting pharmaceuticals. It can be used as a carrying agent for essential oils, tocopherols, carotenes, and pigments in cosmetic formulations. The adhesive film-forming characteristics of Fantesk**TM makes it possible to be used in film coatings for agricultural seed and seedlings. These film coatings could carry oil-based herbicides and pesticides targeted to the seed as well as hormones, growth regulators, biologicals, and nutrients. Fantesk**TM also acts as an environmentally friendly emulsifier for lipid materials. Its potential for use in various applications increases with the fact that it is cheap and Generally Accepted as Safe (GRAS).
