Technical Abstract: Additional marker placement on chromosome 7H in 1997 is summarized. Numerous new markers, such as AFLPs, S-SAPs, and SSRs have been added to the map. These and other markers have been used to locate genes for resistance to barley stripe mosaic virus, scald, and cereal aphids, and QTLs for malting quality, yield and agronomic traits. Synteny between barley chromosome 7H and wheat 7D, and between barley and Triticum monococcum also was reported.
