Interpretive Summary: Drainage properties of a landscape topography can be determined by computer if the landscape has been digitized. A software package that processes digital landscapes is needed to define the landscape properties for surface runoff and erosion models. Suck a software package has been developed by ARS. This document is the installation guide that helps the user install the software on his/her computer and test the proper operation of the software.

Technical Abstract: This installation manual provides information on the installation, verification and initial SETUP of TOPAZ Version 1.20. TOPAZ is distributed either on DOS diskettes or internet. The installation instructions in this manual refer to the installation from DOS diskettes to a PC with a DOS operating system. The user must adapt these instructions to suit user selected file transfer format, computing platform and operating system.
