Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: SoyBase was created to give geneticists and breeders easy access to data from many laboratories, the literature and other databases (Genebank, GRIN, PVP, BIOSIS, AGRICOLA). It is an ACE-type database with hypertext links between classes and an easy to use graphical interface. This means, for example, that following a path through the database from a locus' map position to detailed information about that gene or marker is as simple as clicking on the links. Other related information is clearly indicated and is also available through hypertext links. Some details on the types of data in SoyBase are shown in the table. SoyBase can be accessed via the WWW at the National Agriculture Library (http://probe.nalusda.gov:8300/plant/index.html) and is also available in a Macintosh version. Additional soybean genome data not yet in the database is available on the SoyBase WWW server (http://129.186.26.94).
