Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: The development of high-density, molecular maps for crop plants is an essential resource for basic and applied crop improvement research. We have constructed a high-density molecular marker map from maize consisting of 1200 loci. The map was constructed using an Immortalized F2 (CO159 X Tx303) of 54 individuals with MAPMAKER for UNIX. The emphasis on expansion of the map over previous versions has focused on mapping loci on sequenced cDNAs from maize and other cereal crop species. The map is organized into bins delineated by the UMC Maize Core Marker Set. The map and supporting map score data are available electronically through the Maize Genome Database, http://www.agron.missouri.edu.
