Technical Abstract: This paper reviews authors personal experiences and his achievements during the last 30 years. His contributions to the discovery of the lifecycle of Toxoplasma gondii in 1970, discovery of the new parasite Neospora caninum in 1988 and of the new organism Sarcocystis neurona in 1991 are outlined.
