The report by Dr. Young, et al address this alternative and describes the results from rabbit experiments that were designed to investigate the fate of triglycerides if a vegetable oil filled breast implant were to rupture. The authors also provide an estimate of the amount of vegetable oil leakage through the silicone implant membrane, and evaluate the growth of common infectious bacteria in a vegetable oil medium. |
