Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Populations derived from the cross between an adapted barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) cultivar, 'Foster', and three partially resistant accessions, Q21861, PI452421, and PC11, were screened for resistance to pathotype Pgt-QCC (QCC) of Puccinia graminis f. sp. tritici. The F2 stem rust reaction was used to select resistant and susceptible plants to be tested as F2:3 families were used to identify RAPD markers linked to the resistance of each accession. Putative polymorphisms were identified with one and three primers for Q21861 and PI452421, respectively. Work is continuing on PC11.
