Technical Abstract: The basic principles of chronocoulometry are presented in chapter 12 along with many examples of analyzing chronocoulometry data using nonlinear regression methods. The molecular based parameters calculated from the nonlinear regression analysis, along with their errors are discussed. The parameters calculated are: diffusion coefficients, surface concentrations of adsorbates, double potential step, and rate constant for reaction of a product from an electrochemical reaction. The diffusion coefficient of the electrochemical species can be obtained experimental using models such as reversible electron transfer; single potential step, reversible electron transfer; double potential step; and the diffusion-kinetic model for a single potential step. Chronocoulometry in studies of reactive species and deviation pattern recognition are extensively discussed.
