Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Agricultural landscapes are an important component of a biofuel strategy to develop energy independence. Agroforestry systems offer an opportunity to produce both food and biofuel feedstocks from the same land area. Such a strategy could improve numerous ecosystem services more so than either of the approaches separately. This presentation reviews some of the benefits of agroforestry systems and explores opportunities for developing sustainable agricultural/biofuel landscapes.
