Technical Abstract: Seven locations contributed useable data for the report. Only one location contributed test weight data and two contributed lodging data. The reader is referred to the "Nursery Conditions" section immediately following this summary for comments concerning specific locations. Average planting date was May 8th, ten days later than the 30-year average, while average heading date (June 30th) was four days later than the 30-year average (June 26th). Average planting date was two weeks later than last year, but heading date was only a few days later. Average yield (4510 kg/ha or 83.8 bu/a) was better than both the 30-year average (4432 kg/ha) and last year's average of 3929 kg/ha. Entries with the best yields were 6B10-4905, 6B10-4748, 6B10-4988, 6B10-4528, and ND28555. Average test weight was 56.9 kg/hl, lower than it was last year and lower than the 30-year average of 61.2. Entries with the highest test weights were 2ND28071, 2ND28065, Pinnacle, M155, 2ND28131. It should be noted that these data were from only one location. Lodging data were reported from two locations. Average plant height was 65.5 cm – shortest in 30 years. Shortest entries were ND28993, 6B10-4515, 2ND28131, 6B10-4988, and 6B10-4528. Disease data from the Cereal Research Centre in Winnipeg are posted in Table 18. The Brandon location also reported disease data that can be found in Tables 19 and 20. A summary of data from the nursery grown at Aberdeen is in Table 21. Finally, a list of entries and their parentage is in Table 22.
