Technical Abstract: The potato psyllid (Bactericera cockerelli) is a Hemipteran pest of solanaceous plants and limits potato and tomato production by the transmission of Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum. Genomic information on the potato psyllid is limited but is vital in developing appropriate management strategies. In an attempt to further understand the genomics of this important insect pest, a consortium was formed to begin the process of assembling and analyzing next-generation sequence data.
