Technical Abstract:
Outfield variety tests are conducted each year on grower farms that represent different regions and soils of the Louisiana sugarcane industry. These tests are conducted during the final three years of the 12 year Louisiana sugarcane variety improvement program. This report is a summary of the yield performance of the commercial and experimental sugarcane varieties harvested in the outfield variety tests during 2010. In 2010, 36 outfield tests were mechanically harvested at 12 locations throughout the sugarcane belt.
