Interpretive Summary: Longhorned beetles are very important to agriculture and forestry due to their destruction of wood during their development. The group studied in this paper is not often collected, and is often misidentified. In preparation of an identification manual of the longhorned beetles of Hispaniola (Dominican Republic and Haiti) we help stabilize the names in this genus by recognizing that two previously described species from Cuba are actually the same. This study will enable scientists, forestry workers, port identifiers, and laypersons to make accurate identifications.

Technical Abstract: Examination of holotypes of Tilloclytus (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae: Anaglyptini) in the Fernando de Zayas collection (Havana, Cuba) and the Museum of Comparative Zoology, Harvard University reveals that T. elongatus Zayas (1975) is a new synonym of T. rufipes Fisher (1942).
