Technical Abstract: Many Hemipteran insects communicate through substrate-borne vibrations produced by a diversity of stridulatory structures. Examples are presented of stridulations produced by different structures of two little-studied Hemipterans, a Rhopalid, Jadera haematoloma, and a pentatomid, Euschistus servus. The functional roles of these stridulations and potential uses of such information in pest management are discussed.
