Interpretive Summary: Stinging wasps, bees, and ants are a problem for farm workers, particularly at harvest when these insects are attracted to ripe fruits. Researchers at the USDA-ARS Yakima Agricultural Research Laboratory, Wapato, WA, together with personnel at Oral Roberts University compiled available information on the biology, pest status, and management of species of ants, bees and wasps that are pestiferous. This information is summarized in a book chapter for public availability. This publication will assist pest consultants, medical personnel, extension people, and researchers in efforts to educate, to manage pests, and to further advance pest control technologies.
