Technical Abstract: Adherence to healthy behaviors and self-care strategies is a concern among clinicians. E-health applications, such as the internet, personal communication devices, electronic health records and web portals, and electronic games, may be a way to provide health information in a way that is reliable, convenient, and accessible, particularly when tailored to specific populations. This chapter reviews E-health applications and offers guidance on future research that is needed to clarify the role of E-health applications in promoting adherence.
