Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: The rapidly increasing number of genome sequences from diverse fungal species and expanding phylogenetic data necessitate highly integrated informatics platforms to adequately support the use of these resources for studying fungal biology and evolution. The long-term goal of Cyberinfrastructure for Fusarium (CiF) (http://www.fusariumdb.org) is to support the archiving, integration and utilization of data from diverse areas of Fusarium research, ranging from genomics, phylogenetics, and population genetics to epidemiology. Via a genome browser, genome sequences of four Fusarium species and characteristics of selected gene families and functional groups can be browsed. The CiF will also support identification of Fusarium isolates by archiving comprehensive phylogenetic data covering the known diversity of the genus, including those currently archived in the Fusarium-ID database, in a searchable format. The new identification tool will allow users to download datasets, including alignments.
