Technical Abstract: This report summarizes published research across the world in 2007 that placed additional markers, genes and quantitative trait loci (QTLs) on barley chromosome 7H. Five additional consensus maps were published. Some of the traits located include those affecting disease resistance, malting quality, seed dormancy and hardness, preharvest sprouting, and flowering. Studies continued to examine QTLs in crosses between cultivated and wild barley with the goal of identifying new genes for barley improvement.
