Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Over the last five years, tremendous genomic resources were developed in salmonids. In 2005, INRA joined formally the consortium for Genome Research on All Salmonids Program (cGRASP). This consortium (www.cgrasp.org) is the international collaborative structure for establishing needed pre- and post-sequencing phase resources for obtaining whole genome sequences for Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) and/or rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). In this context, we aimed at producing an integrated physical and genetic map in rainbow trout. A first generation based-clones physical map is under construction using a high throughput fingerprinting technique. In parallel, we produced a resource of BAC-end sequences (BES) useful for map integration and comparative mapping.
