Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Biodiesel is an alternative diesel fuel produced from vegetable oil, animal fats or waste oils. The process used in its production is known as transesterification. If vegetable oils or animal fats are subjected to a process similar for making diesel fuel derived from petroleum, a fuel called renewable diesel is obtained. This article compares various aspects such as production, properties, uses and impact of biodiesel and renewable diesel.
