Technical Abstract: Field populations of the cactus moth, Cactoblastis cactorum were surveyed weekly beginning in July 2006. We sampled the native cactus, Opuntia stricta visually to determine the densities and development of immature stages. Adult males were collected using a synthetic pheromone and a sticky wing trap. Results indicated three generations throughout the year. Each generation was approximately from May-July, August-October and November to April. Adult counts peaked in early August 2006, mid-October 2006, and mid-April 2007.
