Interpretive Summary: Longhorned beetles are very important to agriculture and the economy due to their destruction of wood during their development. Many species of woodboring beetles are intercepted at ports-of-entry in the United States and are potential pests. This study describes 5 species of longhorned woodboring beetles from Hispaniola. Numerous figures are provided to allow easy identification of the species. This study will be important to port identifiers, regulatory personel associated with APHIS-PPQ, and scientists and laypersons concerned with woodboring beetles and Caribbean fauna.

Technical Abstract: Five new species of longhorned beetles (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) from the Dominican Republic are diagnosed, described, and illustrated: Ataxia hovorei, Atimiola rickstanleyi, Drycothaea indistincta, Eburia pseudostigma, and Hormathus unicolor. In addition, Hormathus Gahan, 1890 is transferred from Tillomorphini into Ibidionini, Division V; Trinoplon Zayas, 1975 is a new synonym of Hormathus; and Hormathus bicolor (Zayas, 1975) is a new combination. A key to the three species of Hormathus is provided.
