Technical Abstract: Cyclophilin B is a member of highly conserved immunophilins and ubiquitously found intracellularly. The complete sequence of the channel catfish cyclophilin B cDNA gene consisted of 996 nucleotides. Analysis of the nucleotide sequence reveals one open reading frame and 5’- and 3’-end untranslated regions (UTR). The 5’-UTR had 77 bases including two potential Sp1 transcription factor binding sites, while the 3’-UTR had 268 bases in length containing a polyadenylation signal sequence and a 29-base polyadenylation tail. The open reading frame potentially encoded a 216-amino-acid peptide with a calculated molecular mass of 23,852 daltons.
